The Gardeners Cottage Restaurant in Cape Town

"Apologies for my earlier review. It was meant for another restaurant, but I accidentally posted here. This was actually my second visit here and we really enjoyed it. Tried three different cakes and loved them all. Came specifically for the chocolate cake, but found out it’s only available on weekends, so I’ll be back for that. We also wanted to get the sourdough bread, but it wasn’t in stock during our visit. The staff were lovely, the location is great, and the seating is cozy and comfortable."

"Yesterday we had breakfast at Gardener’s Cottage. I chose fruit parfaits, it was so delicious. It was made with bananas, strawberries, apple, blueberries, coconut yogurt, granola and honey. Everything was fresh and the environment was amazing. I really enjoyed this time with you guys."

The portions are generous, and presentation is elegant without being pretentious. I had the spinach and feta omelette — light, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. Drinks: Their coffee is decent, though not spectacular. A nice range of teas and fresh juices. The carrot and ginger juice is especially refreshing. Atmosphere: This is the true highlight. Tables are tucked under trees and umbrellas in a leafy courtyard that feels like a secret garden. You’ll hear birds chirping, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot the resident cats lounging nearby. It’s peaceful, photogenic, and makes for a great spot to unwind or catch up with friends. Indoor seating is also available but the garden is definitely where the magic is. Service: Warm and polite, though it can be a bit slow during peak hours. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Expect a relaxed pace rather than rushed efficiency. Price: Fairly priced for the setting and quality — you’re paying for the experience as much as the food, and it’s worth it. Parking: Available on-site and usually sufficient, though it can get tight on weekends. ⸻ Would I return? Absolutely. It’s a lovely spot for a quiet breakfast or brunch, especially on sunny days. Ideal for solo visits with a book, or intimate catch-ups with close friends. Don’t rush it — this place is made for lingering. Don’t forget to snap a few photos — the ivy-covered walls and garden setting make it Instagram-worthy"

"Great baked cheese cake, but carrot cake very average, scones also Devine. Staff a bit tired or just not in the mood to be hosting guests, venue great outdoors, ground a bit uneven for the chairs, but overall very nice, will recommend and go again"

"Stunning place to come to! Food was amazing and very well portioned! Staff were so kind and helpful. The whole ambiance of the place was a 10/10! I had my doggy with me and the staff immediately pointed out the water stations for her. They were so accommodating! Definitely made my list of places to visit again."
